Rated higher than the top class miler Goldikova, she heads the ratings in a year when the girls did remarkably well - in several divisions. North America's best sprinter Fabulous Strike stands out as the best male, alongside Dubai World Cup (G1) winner Well Armed - though the latter's run in the desert was almost too good to be true and rated with a "?". Others high on our ranking are Gio Ponti, currently training for a crack at the 2010 World Cup, and Rail Trip, excellent in the summer but sidelined in the autumn.
