Future betting

While the bookmakers have some horses way too big in their future books, they also often list horses that are either very doubtful runners, out with injury or sometimes even retired.

This article will update you on such horses, so check back here every time you see something you might fancy having an early bet on.

Acclamation - sustained an injury and will not go to the Breeders' Cup.

Fiorente - is in the Melbourne Cup picture.

Brilliant Speed - runs in Classic, if he gets in.


Izzi Top is around 12-1 in various books, but "unlikely to go to Santa Anita", trained John Gosden said after her run at Longchamp on Arc day.


Cityscape - will not run again in 2012, it was reported on BBC from Ascot's Champions Day.

Power figures at around 16-1 in many lists but the Irish trained colt has been retired.

Beauty Parlour - will not run again this year, trainer says.


It's Tricky - injured and retired.

Potesta - she was retired after sustaining a bad injury on Sep 14.
